You have to be pretty damned corrupt to set a new Russian record for bribery.
Georgy Satyukov, a former employee of the Russian Interior Ministry's Information Technology Crime Control Directorate ("K"), has been charged in absentia with taking a record bribe of 4.9 billion rubles ($52 millon), while his ex-colleague Dmitry Sokolov has been charged with mediation. The "K" Directorate is one of the most classified divisions of the Russian Interior Ministry.
Satyukov and Sokolov were put on the federal and then international wanted list, and then arrested in absentia. It is not known where they are now.
It is alleged that Satyukov and Sokolov received the money between 2019 and 2021 in bitcoins as a bribe from Alexei Ivanov (Bilyuchenko), one of the founders of the WEX crypto exchange. According to the investigation, the officers demanded money from Ivanov by threatening criminal prosecution.
4.9 billion rubles ($52 millon) is the largest bribe in Russian history. The previous record holder was Dmitry Zakharchenko, who was sentenced to 16 years for taking bribes totaling 1.4 billion rubles ($15 million).
The anti-tank mines being dropped from drones are a lot more effective than the grenades.
Another day of lopsided losses.
“Russian peacekeeper” is an oxymoron.
Right in the damn barrel. Apparently this is Ukraine’s new N95 drone.
Excellent flying skills but there are better places to strike to take out a howitzer.
Meanwhile, in Russia’s flood disaster zone …
This Russian woman calls on Putin and other officials to resign over the shitty response to the flooding in Orsk/Orenburg and claims the flood was sabotage to trigger a famine.
She’ll probably be arrested soon.
Russia attacked a hospital and other sites in Chernihiv with Iskander missiles. At least 15 are dead.
Russia also continued its shelling of Kherson.
How the hell did they end up in Germany?
Seems likely they were being trafficked. Add this to the huge pile of Russian war crimes.
Another Soviet-era monument may come down.
Elon Musk is either clueless or a blatant liar — or both.
